Pershing Field Garden Friends™ (PFGF) celebrated the first weekend of fall on Friday night at 942 Co-op for its fundraiser, Falling Leaves: an evening of poetry, prose and song to benefit the gardens at Pershing Field. The warm and inviting venue and delicious food were provided by Bloomsbury Square and Choc O Pain. The service was exemplary!
It was an outstanding line up of talent and we thank them for a wonderful evening. We enjoyed compelling and provocative spoken word by: Deborah Jack, Mel Kozakiewicz, and Dr. Ann M. DeVenezia. The house was rocking with music by “The Bottomless Mimosas” a collective of super talented musicians: Nick Ciavatta-Lead Vocals/Guitar, Malcolm Marsden-Lead Guitar, John Lampone-Guitar, Freddie Moises-Saxaphone, John Warren-Upright- Bass Guitar and Fred Jenkins-Drums.
Mauro Altamura did a great job coordinating the evening and emceeing the event – thanks Mauro.
We are thankful to our sponsors: Remco Press of NJ , Central Avenue Liquors, Eugene P. O’Connell, Attorney at Law, (CARA DEVELOPMENT), Bloomsbury Sq, Choc o Pain, and Susan Newman Design Inc.
Most importantly we thank our community for their unwavering support, making this the most successful night of our series.
Stay tuned for details on our Holiday Fundraiser to be held in December – I can promise you it will be another fun-filled night in support of our park!!
